Nauscopio · Audio technical reports
Analysis of valve amplifiers, loudspeakers and crossovers. Evidence methodology, traceability, and a strict separation between observed data, calculations, and measurements still pending.
What this page is. An index of the technical reports published on Nauscopio about valve amplifiers, loudspeakers and crossovers. Every report applies the same methodological discipline: tagging each statement by its evidence level (OBSERVED, LIKELY, CALCULATED, ND / not demonstrated).
Valve amplifiers
xDuoo A35 — 13 amplifiers compared
Technical analysis of the xDuoo A35 (PP EL34/KT88 UL, ESS ES9018K2M DAC, Bluetooth 5.1) and comparison with 12 other valve amplifiers, including the Acronos RS-1 Single-Ended KT150. Suitability index for a 3-way system of 89 dB / 5.3 Ω / 3 m.
Acronos P52 — 40 W Ultralinear PP
Reverse-engineering report on the Acronos P52 (6550 PP UL, 40 W nominal) based on visual inspection of photographs and cross-checking against manufacturer catalogues. Component identification, architecture, bias and power-supply hypotheses, and characterisation protocol. Includes a beginner's guide for readers with no prior knowledge.
Acronos P52 vs Cayin Jazz 80
Technical comparison between the Acronos P52 and the Cayin Jazz 80 (KT88/EL34, UL/triode, Bluetooth). Analysis of architecture, rated power, output impedance, and behaviour with real loudspeakers. Page in preparation.
Loudspeakers and crossovers
35-year-old 3-way loudspeaker — Crossover A v2.4
Electroacoustic evaluation of a 35-year-old 3-way loudspeaker and design of an experimental crossover (5 components) for valve amplification. LspCAD simulation on .frd/.zma data, directivity analysis, geometry and listening position. Model frozen as MR-A-01 before building the physical cabinet.
Klang+Ton Grand Diamond — 2-way monitor
Technical and electroacoustic analysis of the Grand Diamond monitor (Dayton SIG225-4 + Epique EC30-4). Klang+Ton 5/2026 project. Crossover strategy at ≈1.8 kHz, faceted front baffle, directivity control, and off-axis behaviour. Distortion and sensitivity according to published measurements.
How to read these reports
Every report in this index shares the same evidence-tagging system. Knowing how to interpret it is essential in order not to confuse an observation with a measurement.
| Tag | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| OBSERVED | Directly visible in photographs or documents. | The silkscreen marking of a capacitor in an image. |
| LIKELY | Reasonable physical inference, pending verification. | The probable function of a relay from its position on the PCB. |
| CALCULATED | Result of a formula based on known data. | Power required for 95 dB at 3 m. |
| HYPOTHESIS | A possibility not yet sufficiently supported. | Power-supply architecture with separate rails. |
| ND | Not demonstrated with the current evidence. | Real B+ voltage, Zout, distortion at 1 %. |
| CONFIRMED | Data established by reliable external documentation. | A manufacturer's specification in a datasheet. |
